Piece for Dance

New work to receive its world premiere this weekend!

My latest choral piece ‘Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep’ is being performed for the first time this Sunday the 14th October at the Octagon Chapel in Norwich, UK by the choir Librincini, directed by Tobias Wardman. I am very excited to be able to make the premiere and will be recording the piece on my Zoom H4n.

new piece inspired by ANZAC Day

I read this poem by Mary Frye on Anzac Day and immediately began about setting the words to music:

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft star-shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there; I did not die.
